I remember long ago when people would tell me that I must have so much patience to have eight kids. I would usually respond that I wasn’t born with any patience so God gave me eight children and He is still working on me in this area.  Now we have twelve children, and I am still praying for patience.
Our two newest kids arrived home two weeks ago. We are all challenged to have patience with cultural differences, language barriers, personality differences, differences in appetites. Most difficult for me is to be patient to be able to talk to them about the Lord. (Currently we literally speak two different languages.) All the other areas in life pale in comparison to my desire to connect with them at a spiritual level. I long to tell them about the Lord and His love for them.  I long for them to feel the joy of abiding in Him. For this I have to be patient, too, as it is God’s work to open their eyes to who He is.  It is my place to draw near to Him, trust Him, wait on Him, and tell them as we learn to communicate.  As I wait, I seek to be grateful to Him for all He has done up to this time to bring us together and to love them, no matter what.  I know He is helping me continue to be patient, through bedtime routines tonight, then facing tomorrow.  He is so good and I am truly grateful.  I still struggle with patience, though! 🙂

Isaiah 40:31

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
